Is This a Pyramid Scheme ~ Overcoming the most feared objection in Network Marketing

As a network marketer you will definitely hear this question… more than once. The funny thing is, you’ll hear “is this a pyramid scheme” way more in the beginning of your career than you will later.

There’s just something about a brand new network marketer who is gung ho, but not quite sure, that seems to attract this question. It’s the question that makes the pendulum swing, it’s the question that makes you doubt your choices, and lose faith in what you’re doing.

Is this a pyramid scheme?

Nah. It’s not. If you’re in a legitimate network marketing company you have no worries about it being a pyramid scheme. It’s not. It’s a legitimate business model, that creates billions of dollars globally every year.

The thing about this question is it stops being asked as you grow your faith in the business model, and even more than that… in yourself! The more you believe in what you’re doing the less often you will get this question from your prospects.

As you build your brand online you’ll find you NEVER get this question, because people will see you, and what you are doing, and what you’ve built and they will know! They won’t ask you about if it’s a pyramid scheme they will be calling you to ask to be part of your team.

But in the beginning… you’ll probably get this question.

Here’s one of my favorite replies, because I come from an internet marketing background. I ask them if they think Amazon.com is a pyramid scheme… or if it would be a scam for me to refer you to amazon to get groceries, or any other product for that matter, and get paid a commission on your sale.

I also use an amazing piece of vision board software. The way the affiliate program for this product is set up is two tier. So if someone signs up for their affiliate program from my link I get a portion of their sales every time they make one, as well as a commission on any sales I make. Well, doesn’t that sound a little like network marketing. 🙂

It’s up to you on how you deal with the pyramid scheme question, but just realize the more confident you become in what you’re doing, the more you build your brand, and build your team the less often you’ll get this question. So hang in there. 🙂

Here’s a video I saw right after someone had asked me that question a while back. This video made me laugh so hard, and gave me a little relief from the dread of that question.  Take a look.
