Oh Man . . . I’m Rubbing Off On My Toddler
I‘ve mentioned in recent posts about my proclivity for self imposed rules. Well I think it’s rubbed off on Hanna.

We started using M&Ms for rewards in potty training. It seems to work quite well, but here’s where she gets a little OCD about the whole thing.
She will ONLY choose the SAME color M&Ms. (she gets 2 for pee and 4 for poop). So when she pees she has to have 2 of the same color M&Ms. (which is ok ~ we’ve been working on colors with this little game).
When she gets 4 M&Ms she will ONLY accept 4 of the same color. We just went in for a 4 M&M trip (yay for her!!) and she started picking orange M&Ms and realized there was only 2 left, threw them back in the container and went with blue M&Ms of which there were plenty.
YIKES.

Oh you've taken me back a few years there. By four I was desperate for my son to use the loo instead of nappies that I caved and did it MIL's way. In a week he was pee trained. In two both ends.
No M&Ms.
Just cold hard cash was worth it as far as he was concerned.
1 Euro per pee
5 Euro banknote for a pooh.
Luckily once he'd got the hang of it there was no going back so it didn't cost that much, mainly cos I was recycling much of the money I had already given him in the first few days (that wouldn't work now he can count !).
Potty training was defiantly one of the baby stages that I least excelled at. I'm keen on giving MIL credit for much but if I hadn't caved in I think he might still be in nappies today. LOL
Good Luck and may your local supermarket have a run on special offers on M&Ms so you can supply all the single colours required in order to get the little one to earn her big girl knickers !!
