My EFT practitioner has set me on a path to “follow my inspiration” this week. It’s an interesting task, and I’m surprised at some of the emotional charges that are coming up in this process.
In trying to follow my inspiration I managed to not do any grocery shopping yet this week ~ and had no food for dinner last night. We ran to the Walmart to grab dinner food for last night, and tonight as well as snacks for the race today.
On a whim I ran by the Wii section ~ Walmart has been out of Wii fits for as long as I have been looking (well duh) which has been a couple months now. Well to my shock and awe there were Wii Fits sitting on that shelf where there is usually a big blank space with only a price tag. 🙂
I scooped one up, and thought about the money for a minute and went with my inspiration to get this Wii Fit I’ve been wanting for so long.
I finally had a chance to pull it out of the box and give it a whirl this morning. OMG. How fun!! I had such a blast, and the fact that it’s a game where you are also trying to get the “best score” on some of the activities really amps up my competitive nature and keeps me working out longer than I know I would have if it was just “4 more reps!!
The exercises are really interesting and that yellow balance dot ~ yikes!! I can see he and I are going to have issues. Who knew how piss poor my balance really was? I’m not even going to tell you what the Wii fit came up with as my “wii age” but let’s just say ~ It ain’t good. 🙁
No worries though, it gives me something to work toward. I set up my goals for the next two months and have a goal to spend 20 minutes a day on the Wii.
I think I’m going to check out some of the routines other Wii Fit Mommies are doing at the Wii fit Mommies community. It would be kinda cool to have a sense of order around it, knowing I go from this to this to this. To pack a punch in my 20 minutes.
So anyway, I’m really excited. I finally got my Wii Fit and I’m loving it. I’d love to hear your Wii Fit stories. I’ll probably have more Wii Fit tales over at twitter if you want to follow along. I also will now have more good sutff for Fitness Fridays which I have been severely behind on. If you want to do it with me I started a Wii Fit Moms group over at twittermoms ~ would love to have you. 🙂
Let me know how it works for you and if you feel like you’re getting results! I bought one a few months ago, and still haven’t unpacked it! I’ve been thinking of supplementing my gym membership with it, but I still am not sold on a video game providing enough exercise for a work out. I’d love to hear otherwise, though!
It’s only been a few days, but I have lost a little weight every day so far. I had a lot of the same concerns regarding getting fit with a video game. In fact, I mocked Wii Fit something fierce until I played Wii the first time.
Here’s what I think now. I think it gets me moving every day because it’s fun. Yes, I feel the burn, and Yes, I’ve been pretty sore the last few days. I have not done the strength training workouts every day because I’ve been pretty sore. Where I would have let the stop me from working out all together before, I have still done cardio and balance workouts all these days.
Get it out of the box. IT’s fun and it seems to be working for me and a lot of other moms.

I think I’ll give it a try this weekend. Might as well, right? I’ll let you know how it goes!
