Meal Plan Monday
It’s another Monday… we did our menu and shopping yesterday. We were lucky enough to have my mom bring by a bunch of meat she got from Schwann’s (and the boy scouts) that she wasn’t going to use. (go figure) so YAY for steak and bacon. I also realized as we were shopping there was a LOT of chicken on the menu this week. I try to vary the meat throughout the week, but my husband actually had some input in the menu this week and slipped in more chicken dishes. Steak and Salad Grilled Fish green beans and a salad Mushroom Swiss Chicken Salad Shake and Bake drumsticks (hubby’s idea ~ I’m not too thrilled) Noodle side dish and mixed veggies Wild Rice Chicken Salad Parmesan Sage Pork Chops salad Braised Balsamic Chicken rice So...

Menu Planning Monday 6/29
Here it is, Monday again. I want to thank everyone who’s been helping me decrease my grocery bill. We had a blast at the store yesterday. We ended up saving over 85 dollars on groceries. Our bill was around $136 but we ended up with 5 or 6 buy one get one free meats, so we’ll have plenty of meat again for next week. I thought I’d start sharing my meal planning with you all, so you can follow along (and give me some hints along the way). So here we go: These meals are in no particular order. Part of the problem with setting a meal schedule is my husband’s schedule is so irregular that I have a hard time sticking to the meal plan. So I’ve set up meals, but we’ll play it by ear when we’re going to have what. Asian PorkWraps...

Menu Planning Monday
Yesterday I made a delicious roasted chicken in the crock pot. It was easy and quite nice to have the smell of herbed chicken wafting through the house all day. It also left me free to play with Hanna, read a book while she was napping, and not have to worry about making dinner other than cutting it and heating up some veggies. I love that. This never used to happen here. I never planned far enough to have everything I need to hook up a crockpot dish in the morning. But all that has changed. I’ve started MEAL PLANNING!! Yet another adventure in consistency. I thought I’d start sharing some of the meal planning techniques (ha ha) that I use and some things that help me get dinner on the table and us out of the Mexican restaurant eating 1500 calorie...
