Hanna has no love for Santa
December 14th, 2009
My mom took Hanna to the annual Christmas party at Learjet. Last year she utterly refused to even think about talking with Santa. However, this year ~ she was all about it. She stood in line for 25 minutes waiting to see Santa. Practiced telling him she wants a big pony and a little pony the whole time they waited.
They got the to front of the line and she said oh no way.
I guess my mom was talked into sitting in Santa’s chair with her, and the elf snuck this picture. My mom wasn’t even aware there was a picture. She only found out about it when she stopped in the company store and the ladies all told her she HAD to see this amazing picture of Hanna (my mom shops there a lot and everyone knows her lol) This is my FAVORITE picture. I just love it.
It is SO Hanna, and I love the twinkle in Santa’s eye.
Maybe next year she’ll tell Santa what she wants for Christmas, mabye not.

A Contest Where Every Body Wins!
September 19th, 2009
There’s nothing better than a contest where everybody comes out a winner. That’s my plan with this contest. I am giving away free copies of Squidoo Christmas Cash Blueprint. It’s a blueprint that will show you the steps to take to create Squidoo lenses targeting holiday shopping. These lenses can make quite a bit of money over the holiday season ~ and of course they keep working throughout the year.
The process to get your free copy is really simple. Just follow the two steps outlined below.
Step 1: retweet this EXACT message on Twitter. Simply copy and paste the text below and post it to your Twitter account. If you don‘t have a Twitter account, you‘ll need to get one for free here: http://www.twitter.com

I’ve mentioned it on Twitter, but not so much here: These owls are getting LOUD!!!
They are bigger now, so their screeches are louder, and now they are jumping all around the attic, digging in the insulation and generally making a LOT of noise when I’m trying to sleep.
We went up to investigate today ~ hubby took one of the vents off the side of the house and I went through the attic access panel in the house.
Here’s what we saw:

barn owl in the attic

another barn owl in the attic
We usually see 2 owls (these are the babies, the grown ups come at night with food), but I think there are actually 3 owl babies up there.
Ryan got a cool video of the owl running right at him, I’m working on getting it uploaded as we speak. I’ll share it once I get it online.
If anyone knows when these owlies might leave our attic I’d be happy to hear from you, especially if you’re going to say SOON!! It’s been cool to have them, but I’m about ready for a quiet night’s sleep.
Filed under Uncategorized | Comment (0)I Do Exercise! A Two Year Old’s Perspective
January 11th, 2009
Yesterday I really truly started the Fit Yummy Mummy 12 Week Transformation Challenge. It’s going pretty well, but that’s not what I wanted to write about today.
I wanted to write about how every day it surprises me just how much Hanna picks up from me. I just go about my day and do my stuff, and then out of the blue one minute she comes out with something that totally surprises me.
It happened again tonight. I was doing dishes, and she came in with the timer and said “I do exercise”. I was like, ok cool. I mentioned that it’s good to exercise to make your body strong.
Next thing I know she starts sprinting back and forth across the dining room, which is exactly what I had done yesterday for my short burst cardio workout. She even squated down and touched the floor at each of the end points.
I was slightly flabergasted. I then realized why she had brought the timer in. I had set the timer yesterday so I could do 30 second short bursts, and then I did a couple minutes of working recovery.
The timer beeped and she yelled “exercise is over”, and started walking around the room again, then hit the timer and started sprints again.
She has only seen me do this ONCE!!! (since I’ve made a promise to myself to do every scheduled workout, I’m sure she’ll see it more, but I had only just started)
The last time she did something similar was when we were driving in Wichita. We were waiting in traffic then suddenly from the back seat I hear her yell “Come on People MOVE!” yikes.
It makes me really stop and think about the things I am modelling for her in my day to day life. It obviously sinks in more than she lets on.
I am really grateful on a whole other level that I am committed to this challenge and making exercise part of my daily life. I think it’s a wonderful lesson for her to learn this early, and hopefully if she sees us doing it now, she won’t have such a hard time getting started when she’s my age, she will have been doing it all along.
