I used to get up as late as I possibly could and still get everyone moving and out the door in the morning. I ended up being frazzled, overwhelmed, rushed and that leads to yelling. Yes, we had many mornings filled with yelling.
The one simple change I made was to start getting up 10 minutes early. Yep, not an hour, or even 30 minutes… 10 little minutes so I can have a few minutes of silence before the day starts and drink a cup of coffee while it’s still hot.
A piping hot cup of coffee and 10 minutes of silence is my morning happy place. đŸ™‚
What’s one thing you could do to create a happy place for yourself in the morning? Would love to hear in the comments.

I recently started doing this. My daughter is almost 2 and I found that I just didn’t have enough time for myself in the mornings. Some mornings I am up 2 1/2 hours before my daughter so I can workout, get a shower, drink some coffee, and start some work. If I don’t feel like working out I get up a half hour to an hour before her so I can get a shower, drink my coffee, and start working. If I don’t do this I am not productive at all, and I don’t get a shower! Anyway, that is my happy place, my shower and my coffee. Thanks for sharing. Cassie from Mommy, RN
