If you are a professional network marketer it can be really easy to be pulled into the rah rah, and excitement of working in a team setting. Teams are wonderful… and they can be discouraging.
It sucks when it seems like your whole team is doing great, bringing in new customers and new business builders and every one is cheering them on… and you’re sitting here, feeling like you’re trying your hardest and yet you’re not bringing people in hand over fist.
It can be a little discouraging.
What’s worse is no one ever TALKS about the fact they’re discouraged… so everyone thinks they are the only ones feeling that way…
Here’s the thing…
Remember you’re watching the whole team… it’s not one person doing all this… it’s MANY people having individual successes, it seems huge because you’re seeing everyone doing something.
While it’s great to qualify for different levels and get that recognition you can still build a super successful business EVEN if you don’t take off like a wild fire from the very get go. While we always seem to hear the stories of people who made a ton of money in their first 30 days… there are tons of stories of people who didn’t get off to a fast start, and yet built million dollar businesses!
Which brings me to the time thing…
There’s definitely a sense of urgency in this business. Everything needs to be done now now now… and all the stories of people exploding their businesses, and making tons of money in the first 30/60 days…
This time thing can be a killer… remember, though… if you take consistent action you can absolutely build a hugely successful business. It may not happen for you in a month or even 6 months… it might take 2 years, or even 5 years.
But HEY! GUESS WHAT!!!
If you were building a brick and mortar business you’d probably not even expect to be in PROFIT in the first 5 years… and here YOU will be with a huge and thriving organization!
Don’t give up…
If you don’t hit those first couple milestones, go ahead and be discouraged. But don’t let it last long. Make sure you get with your upline and make sure you are DOING the crucial actions to make your business grow. As long as you are taking those actions… your business WILL grow.
You have to be honest with yourself though, and make sure you are actually doing those activities though. 🙂
If for some reason the way you’ve been taught to do those activities is not working for you ~ it makes you feel yucky or gross… start rethinking how you can do the crucial business activities in a way that feels GREAT to you! Maybe you need to just tweak your focus a little, or find a different angle to hold yourself in… the solution is THERE… you just have to be willing to work it out.
The last thing I’ve got to say on this…
You’ve got to play your own game. If you’re finding it discouraging, and frustrating trying to keep up with everyone on your team, it’s quite possible you’ll quit. Plug in to your team. Stay motivated. Get excited. But in the end remember, this is YOUR business, and you have to play your own game. You’ve got to be in it to win it for the long haul, not just for the first promotion.
